How to register to vote in Pennsylvania
To vote in Pennsylvania you must be: (1) a US citizen, (2) at least 18 years old by Election Day, (3) a resident of your voting district for at least 30 days before the election, and (4) registered to vote at least 15 days before the election.
How to register
- Online (easiest): pavoterservices.pa.gov, needs a PA driver's license or PennDOT ID.
- By mail: Download the form from the same site, fill it out, mail it to your county voter-registration office.
- In person: Visit your county voter-registration office with ID.
- At other agencies: Any PA DMV location, any PA welfare office, armed-forces recruiting offices, and public libraries will help you register.
Deadlines for 2026
To vote in the May 19 primary: register by May 4, 2026. To vote in the November 3 general: register by October 19, 2026.
Check your status
Already registered? Confirm your registration is active and your address is current at pavoterservices.pa.gov/VoterRegistrationStatus. PA purges voter rolls periodically for inactive voters; worth checking if you haven't voted in a while.
